Thanks to the recent Christian Dior Couture Spring 2013 show I've been fantasising over cutting my hair short again. I'm completely head over heels for the crop seen on the model with black hair.

So perfect for Spring time. Long hair just seems like such a drag when everything is growing fresh and new in the environment around you. Not to mention the wonderful make-up. Check out that impeccable winged eye and cupcake kitsch pout.

Ah, temptation. Raf Simons is working wonders for Dior.

After a long 7 day week of work I woke up this morning feeling like I needed something a little extra special for breakfast. Inspired by my surroundings, I thought nothing would be prettier (and tastier) than little mountain shaped slices of brioche dusted with a sheet of icing sugar snow. But what to pair with it?

The other day I was charmed by this wonderful new marmalade that was delivered to my workplace. Amalfi lemon and vanilla, who would not be tempted by such a combination? It's made by the wonderful Hackney based London Borough of Jam company. This was the perfect accompaniment to my French toast, the subtle tartness of the citrus Amalfi lemon cutting through the richness of the brioche just perfectly.
If you'd like to buy some of this wonderful marmalade I recommend paying a visit to La Fromagerie, and whilst you're there maybe you can say hello to me and thank me in advance.

French toast for 1:

100ml milk
2 eggs
2 tbsp caster sugar (I used my homemade vanilla sugar)
2 slices brioche
Butter for frying
Icing sugar to decorate

Beat together the milk, eggs and sugar in a shallow bowl. Dunk the slices of brioche in the mixture until well coated and absorbed. Melt the butter in a frying pan, when the butter is sizzling slide the brioche into the pan and cook untill golden and crisp on either side. Cut the French toast as you please and dust with your preferred amount of icing sugar. Serve with a nice marmalade, jam, compote or fresh fruit in the summer.

Here is a salad that is perfect for winter. Seasonal bitter leaves of castelfranco (aren't they beautiful?), sweet segments of Tarocco orange, toasted Marcona almonds and grilled chicken. A mixture of extra virgin olive oil, sea salt and the juice gathered from when I segmented the orange dressed this salad.

It was delicious. This salad should come with a guarantee to brighten up any otherwise dull British winter day.

My boyfriend and I exchanged Christmas presents early as we won't be spending Christmas together. Here's what I received!

Le Labo Neroli perfume... So excited about this. I've been wanting a new perfume for a while and I'm in love with the scent of this one, so clean and pure.

Paul A Young fresh chocolates... Can't wait to try these. Love this British chocolatier, these are almost too pretty to eat.

Signed Nigel Slater cook book... The way it's written is split up into months, I'm looking forward to reading the January section next year.

 H for Hannah mug.

Beautiful soft polka dot jumper from Anthropologie. He obviously took note of my recent obsession with this shop.

Today I was doing a little Christmas shopping when, I don't know how (obviously), I found myself browsing the huge sale in Anthropologie and bought myself a few treats.

Let's start with this Frosted Maple candle, it's making my room smell amazing right now. I don't have a lot of time for Christmas baking at the moment- so this is a good replacement as it fills the air with nostalgic sweet smells. Perfection.

I couldn't resist this beautiful little Christmas decoration. I don't have the space where I'm living for my own Christmas tree, and so I thought it only fair that I'm able to gaze into this little jar at the three little trees that glisten with fake snow and ice.

I've been eyeing up these plates for a while, I got so excited when I saw that they were in the sale.. The perfect size for light meals and with an air of oriental simplicity. Which reminds me I need to buy in some chopsticks.

I received my first Christmas card of the year a couple of days ago. It put an instant smile on my face.

Colder weather outside means a new lip balm to help keep my lips soft, this one by Burt's Bees has peppermint oil in it. I like the tingling sensation that it gives.

A preview of my new sparkling shoes...

Today was all about hanging out in parks and wearing my new boots to break them in.
I find myself wondering, can it get any colder than this? I know the answer but I don't want to believe it! It's too beautiful outside to stay indoors.

Outfit.. All Zara. I've been on a Zara binge.
